Explore! – A Zen Experience led by Zenju Earthlyn Manuel
Zen is an experience of connecting to life, to everything and everyone with the breath. While influenced by Soto Zen and religious customs, EXPLORE!’S day long retreats are different than the long day of sitting created for those who aspire to be Buddhist monks, nuns, or priests in the Zen tradition. Although sitting and silence is included participants are given space and time to settle the body indoors and outdoors, face each other and not always the wall, engage in fun body/mind activities, listen to the Shakuhachi (flute) Zen meditation music and are guided into an inquiry of discovering the heart. The day will include walking in the woods, tea, relaxing with the trees, discussing our lives, and eating together.
Join Zenju Earthlyn Manuel, at EXPLORE! held at Jikoji Zen Center in Los Gatos, CA (an hour south from San Francisco0). It usually takes place on a Saturday of the month from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Everyone is welcome especially people of color, all genders, and LGBTQIA.
NEXT EXPLORE! RETREAT DATE: November 25th.
